Hurray for Our Cafeteria Staff!

The Health Inspectors came and awarded each cafeteria an: A 100 score.

“These ladies have worked extremely hard to bring things in line with the new
food guidelines and be in compliance, much less score a perfect score. 

Almost no one scores a perfect score.  I’m thrilled for these hard
workers,”

The GAC Boys’ Soccer Team captured the Region 6-AA Championship for the 5th consecutive year with a record of 15-1.

 

 

 

The 2008-09 Olympian Staff Members are:  Jen Adesegun, Nicole Baker,
Allie Blinder, Taylor Boven, Amelia-Rose Bradley, Emee Herbert,
Amanda Jordan, Melissa King, Meisha McCray, Elizabeth McDermott,
Danielle Moss, Scott Osteen, Taylor Polk, Corinne Pretiger, Monique
Singhal, Alexandra Tobia, Sarah Waller,
and Kathrine Willoughby.

 

The 2008-09 Spartan Spear-It Members are:  Rachel Anderson, Megan McPheely, Rachel Middleton, Kari Paddock, Katie Pierson, Matt Simpson, Adrian Stubbs, Rebecca McLean, Esha Singh, Thomas Marro, Chris Deedy, Alexandria McCall, Zach Stephens, and Lyndsey Kytle.

 

Jazz Band earned straight "Superior" in the Georgia Music
Educators Association (GMEA) Jazz Festival.

 

 

Seniors Lindsey Licata and Michael Carothers were named
Mr. and Miss GACS at the Junior/Senior Banquet on Friday, April, 26th.

 

 

Eighth Graders Brittany Arnold and Jared Chapple
were named Mr. and Miss Spartan.

 

 

 

Senior Christian Robinson was honored at the Sports Champions of Greater
Atlanta Awards Banquet at the Cobb Galleria.  He was one of 12 student-athletes
in Metro Atlanta area to be recognized for scholarship, athletic
accomplishments, and character.

Senior Kathleen Jackson was offered a vocal music
scholarship from the University of South Carolina.

 

 

 

 

Marcel Cabato (left) scored a perfect 40 on the National Latin Exam.

Gold medalists in the National Latin Exam (scoring 36 or higher): Laura Beth Jackson,
Mitchell Singletary, Carter Asef
and Meagan DeFranks.

Will Freeman took top honors in Latin 3 earning a Silver medal.
Naomi Allen earned a Silver medal with her top score in Latin 4.

 

GAC Athletic Director Tim Vick was named Region 6-AA State
Athletic Director of the Year, as well as, Regional Director of the Year.  

This is the 4th time Tim has been recognized as Regional Athletic Director of the Year.

 

 

 

 

 

GAC President Dr. Fincher was elected President of the
Georgia Independent School Association.

 

 

Dr. Ray Hawkins was presented the Teacher of the Year Award
by Senior Neal Hughes.
